Tricks

• The King's Gambit - The magician removes a folded-up prediction, leaving it in full view on the table. He then invites a participant to select 5 random cards from the deck. The cards are placed face down on the table and mixed by the participant, who then freely places the prediction on any card of their choosing. The selected card is then shown to match the card that is written on the prediction.

• Perfect Ambiguity - An impossible discovery of a thought of card. Presented as a prophecy with more than one interpretation, the magician nearly instantly discovers the card only constructed in the mind of the participant - a card which could have been constructed in more than one different way.

• Pocket ESP - A perfectly simple yet powerful reveal of a participant's thought of ESP symbol. The participant is asked to think of any of the five ESP symbols. Each of the five symbol cards is placed in the magician's pocket. The magician then slowly removes each symbol one at a time, revealing the participant's thought of symbol as the last card removed.

• The Nethermind - A feat of pure mentalism with a stack of blank card-stock billets. A participant is invited to remove a card and secretly write down an item they own that is precious to them. The card is then lost face down in the pack. Under the fairest conditions, the performer is able to divine what the participant wrote on the card, while the participant is then able to intuit the exact location of their card in the pack.
